Small dollars ---- what to look for?

bronco2078bronco2078 Posts: 10,425 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have 4 uncirculated rolls of small dollars I have been sitting on I am thinking of getting rid of .

1 roll of 1979P Susan B anthony and 3 rolls of 2000P sacagawea dollars .

I saw that average selling price on ebay seems to be around 30$ which after fees looks like a net loss over spending the coins.

I'm thinking about opening them what should I look for?

The end coin on the 1979 roll doesn't appear to be a wide rim coin so I am thinking that the others won't be either but other than that what is there?

Is there a site like the one for Ike dollars that details different varieties? I have tried searching the forum but it doesn't bring up anything useful

    Look for wide rims!

I think they're really undervalued, especially PCGS MS64-MS65 ones.. you can usually get them for between $25 to $50 on the Bay.

I would check the 2000-P Sacagaweas for the Cheerios reverse. Worth thousands of dollars depending on condition. (Do a search for Cheerios here and you will find the diagnostics and pictures.)
