putting "http" 2 X in the link will not work thats the prob w/link
also when the word "Text" comes up you need to write what the link is for, ie "1963 Topps Koufax eBay" ...so us prewar guys dont have to click the link to see its only a common modern Topps cards of Koufax
Thanks fkw ! My directions were just ok then. The link went to Google for me then I clicked on it and it went to lame ass card bought for $145.00 Thanks again. Next time should be better. I love this site!!!
Tallulah Bankhead — 'There have been only two geniuses in the world. Willie Mays and Willie Shakespeare.'
Someone paid $145 for a card that AT MOST should be around $100. Congrats????
Uggg - I just saw how bad the centering was. That card should be around $75, probably a little less. So someone only paid double what the card is worth - it's only money, right?
You have to be really desperate to buy a card from 707!! He over prices his cards almost double but if your in really need of the card he does have a ton of inventory..
<< <i>You have to be really desperate to buy a card from 707!! He over prices his cards almost double but if your in really need of the card he does have a ton of inventory >>
Most of his stuff is readily available from others. The only cards I have seen from him that are not that readily available are the 1952 Topps Mantles he has, and his are priced so high, you are definitely losing thousands of dollars of "value" purchasing one.
<< <i>I'd make a handsome wager that you'd be singing a different tune if it was your auction >>
No way dude. Centering doesn't lie. That is the one trait that ANYONE can see without using a loupe. Good luck getting it into that '8' holder buddy....
2. has anyone here ever spoken to levi and discussed his business model?
if so, what did he say? thanks. >>
???? I'm confused why would he/ should he discuss his business model you you or anybody else for that matter? (not trying to make this personal in any way).
Would you discuss your monthly budget/financial holdings/salary with anyone?
I am not carrying water for Levi... BUT why does anybody care what he decides to sell cards for?
Again maybe I am missing something, please advsie.
In the USA all men are created equal but some are more equal than others....
I met Levi at a National Convention in the early 1990's.
He had cards that I couldn't find anywhere in nm/mt condition. His prices were higher than I thought they should be.
I politely asked him why he was so high on the cards I was interested in; 1962 AL HR Leaders and 1969 Super Harmon Killebrew, he wanted about $100.00 for each card. At the time above "book".
He very nicely said he had been in the hobby for quite a long time, and he asked for what he though the cards were REALLY worth not just following a price guide or general consensus.
As I was about ready to conclude our deal I noticed a 1966 Killebrew in great shape and asked about it, now expecting the worst and he quoted book price $20.00.
It's been about 20 years and he was totally correct, the first two cards really took off in value while the '66 Killebrew gained some but not too much. Cards ended up grading an 8 on the HR Leaders, 8 on the '66 Killebrew and a GEM 10 on the Killebrew super!
The guy knows his stuff, and he has deep pockets, so he doesn't have to sell anything for less than he wants to.
I don't buy much from him anymore, because there are better deals on eBay, for the most part.

Levi sets the market price. Period. He practically wrote the textbook on inventory turns. He also has a really keen eye for identifying and buying cards that are high for the grade.
I'm not exactly sure if your post was derogatory???
So here's what I'm going to do... I'll send Levi a PM and request several pics, nude or otherwise. And I'll get back... >>
First, make an offer on one of his listings. 88.5% of BIN price should suffice. Then wait for the super friendly "thank you" decline, at which point you can indulge all your sick homo-erotic fantasies.
Again, may I recommend eHarmony's 30 day trial? The results don't lie.

The card might be an 8(oc) without the qualifier.

Ya that's right, congrats.
Not everyone's opinion about oc cards is the same, and I think the card might be closer to an 8.

I will make a handsome wager that that card in particular will not '8'. No way in hell.....

8OC, is what I said. Did you not get that?
<< <i>The card might be an 8(oc) without the qualifier. >>
Bobby I just re-read my other post. What I mean't was, with a qualifier it might be an 8 (oc).
The corners are comparable to another 8 available right now. And better than a 7 I looked at.
Is this a gamble to send in to PSA again or what?
I know that's not what you meant.
<< <i>I zoomed in on the card and you are right the corners are nice but isn't 8oc the same as a 6? If so I would rather have a strong 6 anyday. >>
Most collectors have the same opinion, and that's why many submitters request no qualifiers and take a 2 point loss.
I personally don't mind them. I'd take an 8(oc) either in a 6 or an 8(oc) holder, rather than an honest 6. With some exceptions of course.
Dan said it though, "As long as you're happy with the card, that's all that really matters."
Everyone has their own opinion. I know I'm a minority with this one though.

I thought that post was more about qualifiers, and if Levi requests that they not be used on his submissions.
