Why gold?

An interesting read. Sort of puts much of what you hear in one spot.

Why gold?
There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword. The other is by debt.

Verily. A very infamous person once said to sell your program to people, just tell them a big lie. The bigger and more improbable the lie, the better. Then keep telling the lie, over and over and over again. And finally, the people will believe it.

Perhaps not a lie, but the technique is awfully similar.
