Probably an UNC or proof 2012 set in a pink or blue box to give to a child born this year.
Maybe our host will offer a special label.imageimage

Each set includes a proof Kennedy half-dollar, the first America the Beautiful® quarter released for the year, a Roosevelt dime, a Jefferson nickel, and a Lincoln cent coin, each bearing the “S” mint mark of the United States Mint at San Francisco.

I for one am glad that the Mint is getting back into gift products. Years ago, I purchased a lucite paper weight from them, containing a circulated 1904 IHC, 1936 nickel, 1940 dime, 1925 quarter & 1937 half. Still on my desk, holding down requests for donationsimage

  • Yeah, ahh.... The RCM has some corny wedding, birth sets, etc. however they look a helluva lot better than this. That is crap.

  • Gee, I think I am going to be busy and miss it........image
  • For $12 more you could buy the Annual Mint set and stick a picture on it.

    Overpriced.

    $19.95 gets you $0.91

$31.95 gets you $6.91 (based on the 2011 mint set)

Not that either is an investment.

Well, they were talking about how they were improving things by getting back to the basics and removing the "extra" products that were more glam than substance.
Now they come out with this? PUHLEASE!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • It's totally unimpressive.

But...with the wife due this summer, I'm in for one.

    What a figging joke!

At the end of 2008 they had a cleaning out of what they felt were unnecessary products. The Presidential Dollar Signature coin was one which got axed. They axed a bunch of other stuff in the name of trimming down their product line as well.

And now they're going to offer this???

These guys are not ashamed in the least to flaunt their ignorance!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

If we have to endure eternaly-present threads about flipping these, I'm leaving.

    Yuck.
  • Why OH Why couldn't the Mint give me a heads up last year? I could have planned to have another child to be born in 2012. I guess I could start now, but it'd be too much risk of having a birth in 2013, thereby stripping all of the sentimental value and meaning from a 2012 birth set. *sigh* Heh heh heh
