1979 Sportscasters Muhammed Ali

I picked one of these up today in a junk store. I've bought some really cool Dale Murphy stuff over the past month. He didn't have anything Murph related today but did have a 79 sportscaster Ali. He sold it to me for 2 bucks.

Any value with these? He also has a Mantle/Maris one thats not for sell. He doesn't have the Gretzky

If you think grade well it might be worth getting them slabbed and putting on eBay. Try to poke around the registry to see if their is a need for one in a high grade.... The registry is a heck of drug... Never know what you might get at auction if there is a bidding war. Otherwise the sportscaster cards don't usually sell well

Gable, Bird, Nicklaus, Prefontaine, Gretzky and Martina.
Also look for popular athletes, not mainstream, that rarely
    appear on cards.

Look for the high series cards. If you have a Beckett Baseball Almanac, you can see the breakdown for all cards.

  • There are variations on those cards, that player collectors get.

The bottom left corner has the copyright. Some are 1978, some are
1979, some were printed in Geneva, some in Lausanne.

I don't think any are significantly more rare or valuable.
