Times like these make being a coin collector really fun!

I had one of those in my boyhood collection. I probably still have it somewhere.

That's all I could ever find back in the early 1960's.
Before I collected coins - or ever knew what a DDO was -
we'd buy cigarettes out of a vending machine at a local diner
[ we were rotten kids as I look back at it - smoking at 8-9 yrs old ;
back then a pack would last four of us a week, ... we just wanted to look cool.]
and I remember seeing two coins / Cents inside the celophane wrapping.
My friend noticed that there was a mistake on them - and we thought
they were damaged and not worth anything - so we pitched them.
Sad, but true...

I always take a second look at 55's, 69S's, 72's and 83 cents.
<< <i>The thrill of the hunt. Is it possible a 55 DDO is just out there in a drawer, a penny jar, a bank roll?

I believe this Po' Man 1955 is the first '55 I've ever received in change in my lifetime.
