Another OT LordM post... but this one a public apology.

lordmarcovanlordmarcovan Posts: 43,685 ✭✭✭✭✭
I've recently gotten a very direct, non-sugarcoated warning from Above that I need to tone down my incessant, manic posting, particularly as it regards OT posts, and this whole "trip to England" thing in particular.

In my manic state my enthusiasm peaks, and I can come off seeming like a little kid at times.

Some folks here find that endearing.

Others find it annoying.

I consider most everyone here to be a friend so I apologize now if I've ever been annoying. That was never something I intended. My intentions here are almost always good, but we all know what the road to Hell is said to be paved with, don't we?

It looks like I'm headed down that road, and I'd like to get off it at the next exit. This place and its people are important to me.

Once a year or so I'll get a random, unknown hater who steps out of the shadows, takes a stab via PM, then vanishes again, but when top brass here sends a direct message that at least some of them are NOT big fans of mine, well, that's different... and a wakeup call.

So I need to lay low for a while. I'm still around and not bammed (yet), but I'm skating on thin ice. Even by posting this in yet another OT thread, I'm running a risk of wrath from Above.

Please accept my apology if my exuberant online persona has ever been over the top (and I know it has).

I am humbled and now commencing to tone things down a notch.

If you need updates on the status of you-know-what, just PM me. Let's keep it off the forums.

Let's also let this thread sink and not become a 100-post outpouring of sympathy (or venom) directed at me. I've been quite the attention hound sometimes but that's brought with it some negative attention as well as positive. I'm fine, so don't feel like you need to defend me here. I know when I've behaved like a fool. Sometimes I do it deliberately but other times it's unintentional and embarrassing.

If I've offended or annoyed anyone, I'm sorry for it.

There 'tis, and 'nuf said for the time being.

    I've always enjoyed your posts.

Especially the ones where you put together circ sets of various series (IIRC, you are working on WLHs at this time).

Was busy at work, so didn't read the England stuff. If you are going, have fun! London is an excellent destination - a lot going on there.

Be careful if you decide to rent a car. I very nearly had a terrible head-on collision when making a right turn there. You have to be constantly vigilant of the fact they drive on opposite sides. One lapse can be a real problem.

We're each a bit manic about one thing or another. I appreciate your enthusiasm. It's contagious.

I've always enjoyed reading your posts and have always considered you to be a real asset to these forums. It's always inspiring to see someone with such a passion for coins that are actually affordable to the average collector. If you have any detractors here (hard to believe), why can't they just stop reading your posts?
