Reloading Bench Recovery Project Nets Forgotten Silver

OldEastsideOldEastside Posts: 4,602 ✭✭✭✭✭
In the past few weeks I've managed to recover my reloading bench
that has been under ton's of storage boxes and other junk that I've
decided to either 86 or donate to the Rescue Mission and last thursday
I declared VICTORY, since then I've reloaded a few hundred rounds of
45 acp, a few hundred of 44 mag, and even about 50 8mm mauser,
not bad after a 10 year hiatus from plinkin and reloading, any ways
I can't believe how much components (primers, powder & projectiles)
have gone up, Gheesh they have done just as good as gold & silver,
But last night I was rumaging around some of the parts bins on my
bench and came across one with some scrap lead in it I use to cast
into round ball for my black powder pistol, and along with the scrap
lead was 5 1oz Silver art bars I totally forgot I had, all I can think of
is I probably had a stupid idea of casting them into bullets to ward
off werewolfs or is it vampiresimage Anyways it is pretty cool to find some
forgotten Silver.

I'm not sure what forgotin silver is, but I'll bet it beats a sharp stick in the eye.
Will it work if/when we go into zombie mode?

So, you cast silver bullets and use them in reloads? Now, THAT's cool! Do you do 44 mags?image

No, but the idea was there once, I can cast lead at about 600F on a coleman but silver requires about
1750F and just is not possible with what I'm equiped with, but other than 44 cal round ball, I do have
moulds for 38 and a few others, but with the price of cheap lead bullets, I may look into 44 cal and 45
cal moulds, I really am amazed at the rise in price since I last bought any componants, and yes its a lot
cheaper than factory ammo, and it a lot easier on the the guns themselfs with conservitave loads.
So I guess I'll have to relye on a sharp stick fer the zombiesimage

+1 on Berry's. I love their .38 HBWC. I load them upside down. They leave an interesting wound channel.
