They also added to the auction description requiring cashier or bank check... they had better hope they don't get reported, have their listing killed by eBay, and miss "Linsanity" at its peak.
Wow. One day left to go in an auction that's at 21K but hasn't met his reserve yet...... and he gets his first two negs ever and a horsesh*t game from Lin.
Sometimes it's just not your day.

The Heat made Lin look like nothing more than a #8 or #9 guy on the bench. All it takes in NBA teams a little time to review film and find a way to shut him down. I watched the game expecting something special...and I saw it, Bosh, Wade and James.
Collecting Topps, Philadelphia and Kellogg's from 1964-1989

You base that on one game? Maybe he just had a bad game, like all players do once in a while.
For me, I'm just happy for the kid and what excitement he has bought to the game and hobby. I already sold the only 2 Lin Autos I had of him from my ebay store just as Linsanity was on the rise - both to non Asian buyers in NJ, one of which is a lawyer. Did I profit from the sales - yes. But man did I underestimate the market. Sold for $128 and OUCH at $71 The latter one is selling at $900-$1300 now.
Sure - I'll agree that the prices are way out there. Any buyers that is "only thinking of their purchases as a long term investment" will definitely lose (it really doesn't matter what currrent player you chose in any sport - Tebow, Crosby, etc). But outside of the flippers, I don't really think the bulk of his fans care about the money they are spending. It's more of an Asian American/New York Knicks pride thing and people are just happy to have something of his.
I just wish I had more of his stuff, if for nothing else, to bring eyes to my store...for the people selling - congrats!
What is that seller thinking having his reserve set so high. He could potentially loose $5,000+ if his reserve isn't met and he has to relist it. I'm really interested to see how this plays out. The two Negs are definitely not going to help his cause either. If I was a potential buyer, I would really think twice about bidding now after seeing those two strikes against him. The two negs, in conjunction with Lin's poor performance tonight might have cost this seller big money.
Linsanity wont go away though. Now that ESPN is likely done with him, Nike, Reebok,Under Armour, whomever, will be marketing him like crazy. But be prepared for the fall of all those auto rookie cards.

New York, NY (February 21, 2012) - The online auction for New York Knicks Jeremy Lin's game-worn jersey to benefit the Garden of Dreams Foundation has raised $42,388. The jersey was worn during the team's victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Feb. 10 at Madison Square Garden. The game-worn jersey was auctioned off with four tickets and a postgame meet-and-greet with Lin for tomorrow's Knicks vs. Hawks game. The seven-day online auction, which was conducted by Garden of Dreams and concluded today at noon, marked a major milestone for the Foundation, as the first auction item to raise more than $40K. The money raised valuable dollars for the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit organization that makes dreams come true for children facing obstacles. This is what makes America the great country that it is. Just think. A nobody from Harvard just raised a record amount of money so needy kids could get a little love. I love it.

Now if he puts it up with no reserve i'd be surprised to see it go for 15,000. Better send to someone who has better feedback now !! 2 negs = less money no matter what card you sell. Just over 92 percent feedback HA HA If i owned that card and put it up for auction it would not of had a reserve. GREEEEEEED !! He paid 1000.00 dollars, cmon buddy do the math !! Steve
I actually emailed the seller of the other Lin card that sold for $21000 and asked him if the buyer paid for the card and he said buyer wont respond to his emails and has not paid for the card. Hmmm that's weird. Haha

I wonder if the seller of this auction ('linspiration') shilled the other auction with no intention of paying... Just a theory....
As I have said from the minute this was posted. The card will not be paid for.
All the media hype just made it more likely some jerks got involved and jacked it up with no intention to pay or it was shilled from the minute it started.
The prices are simply not realistic and Lin cards have no where to go but down from these stupid levels.
<< <i>great...I get from first LIN rookie auto on consignment and that night he becomes exposed.... oh well !! >>
Give Lin a break! He's basically a rookie considering how much playing time he's had. Wade took him to school, hopefully he learns and improves rom the experience. Did anyone see that Fox Business featured the last half hour of the auction? It closed on live TV.
<< <i>haha - that's a $5 card in a couple of years >>

Yeah, if it were the same card it might have commanded another $100, lol..

The Linflation trend has surely died, just to show why you sell when you can and don't sweat it if you didn't hit the peak because the bottom and low end is much worse.
True, but his stats for the year are not too bad: 12.5 PPG; 4.3 APG; 2.7 RPG
