Opinion Ebay return question

Sorry to bother you guys with something so trivial, just looking for opinions.
I received this from a buyer:
Hi I bought this roger Craig graded card from you and I realize your listing says no returns. I'm hoping you will let me send this back. There is a crack in the case that it not visible in the picture and no mention of it in the description. Can I return this please?

They bought a $10 card from me, it was packed fine. It didn't have any cracks before it left. I've shipped hundreds like this in a bubble mailer and received hundreds like this. I understand how things can happen in shipment, having worked for the biggest parcel company in he past.

I was looking for a few opinions about how to handle it. Most likely before requesting them to ship it back and then refund their money.
Thanks,
Chad

  • I would let him return it. Its only $10 bucks. Your still getting your card back. Sometimes things get damaged in the mail. Just make sure to you submit to him a cancellation request as well. That way, once you refund him his money after he sends the card back, he should approve the request so ebay will credit the fee back but only to your ebay account which you cannot use to purchase anything (which really sucks) - only gets used when you sell items - in other words - it pays off your future sellers fee's until the credit runs out.

    Tell him no.

    Good for you.
  • Let him return it....Even though you state no returns on graded cards it won't matter if he files a SNAD.

I will be doing a reholder sub in the near future. If you want to get your card reslabbed, I will let you tag along.....
  • To avoid problems I would refund... It's only 10 bucks.
  • You can agree to have it returned or PayPal can force you to take it back.

Either way they will get the refund.

Stick to your guns, tell him no and be aggressive about it.
    Good for you.

He is being honest I believe.
If he wanted to return it, he could regardless of if your listing said no
    returns or not.
Allow him to return it making you look like the good guy.
Cancel the transaction, get your fees back.
Take the offer above to reholder.
Very nice gesture by the way.

Let him send it back. Just be sure he also sends the $10 restocking fee as well.

I am just a buyer on ebay and I notice more and more listings say no returns or return accepted in so many days....some of the comments here seem to indicate a buyer buying through paypal can always force a return regardless of what the seller puts in the listing about no returns. Is that the case , and if so does ebay have some policy that directly addresses that ?

Even if a no returns policy was Ebay-Paypal enforceable it wouldn't apply here because the holder cracked during the shipment you're responsible for as the seller. If there's damage during shipment it's your problem not his. I would give him the option of returning the card for a refund or offer a partial refund of the $5 cost to reholder. He has the right to a full refund no matter what your decision so you might try keeping him happy. You didn't say how it was packed but a single PSA card in a bubble envelope with no cardboard reinforcement can easily be damaged given the right circumstances.
