It makes more sense to slab this coin than silver eagles.

Now that is a very valid point.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

I've heard James Wiles refer to it as machine damage doubling (MDD).

I've read this thread more than a few times to TRY to figure out why this coin was slabbed. I'm stumped.....I see nothing. And braddick's '2,500%' is only 25 cents, so....I wouldn't hold your breath waiting on one.

That being said, if you wanted it slabbed, it's your absolute right to slab anything you want. Personally, I wouldn't have, but thats just me.

edited to remove my comments, because I'm still stumped.
    I'll come up with something.

    Not necessarily golfer.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

It's pretty clear that the OP thought he had made a new "discovery" akin to the 1955 or 1972 Doubled Die cents.

Sorry it just turned out to be an ordinary 1982. Do more research before submitting more coins buddy!

Some people collect lowball sets. Haven's seen the coin, but one would be hard pressed to find a coin worth so little in a slab. If you took a wheat cent, there would be a premium for it out of the slab. You can't use a smaller denomination because a half cent would be worth more, even in very low grade. Can anyone post a picture of a coin worth less in a slab? Doesn't that make it somewhat special?

There are already plenty of worthless slabs around. Some years ago, somebody stuck it to Teletrade by sending a bag of nearly worthless circ Lincolns to PCGS to be graded via the Teletrade/PCGS grading program. Telerade was left holding the bag for the $5oK or so grading fees when the consignor went underground.
