Paid! Also added funds for a couple additional packs! Thanks again for setting this up, Mike!
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Just paid and was told it would go out tomorrow morning at the latest.
"You know we just don't recognize the most significant moments of our lives while they're happening. Back then I thought, well, there'll be other days. I didn't realize that that was the only day."
My 77 FB yielded a couple of commons that are being sent in as possible 9's and a Jim Zorn RC that won't grade well.
78 FB had nothing gradeable in one pack but did have a Stanley Morgan RC. The other pack will remain sealed as it's got Terry Bradshaw showing on the back.
79 FB gave up a Roger Staubach, Larry Csonka and Donnie Shell RC, but all are far enough OC that I won't be submitting.
78BB pack 1 was nothing at all. Pack 2 had Dennis Eckersly and the gum card was Willie McCovey which had the gum bleed all the way through. I did get two commons that I'll sub for my registry set.
I bought a baseball cello pack run and 2 wax packs each of 1972 OPC, 1978 and 1979 Topps baseball. The OPC packs are gorgeous and will be left unopened. The cello run had no stars showing. I opened one each of the ’78 and ’79 wax packs and the ’83 cello.
The ’83 cello pack had absolutely nobody in it. The best cards were Ron Guidry and Jack Clark.
The ’79 pack had 10 awesomely centered cards and 2 off center including the Ozzie below.
The ’78 pack yielded these Schmidt and Brock cards back to back, as well as a Brock Record Breaker:
My scanner may be a little harsh because the Schmidt and Brock cards are fantastic. I still need to work a little on not cutting out the borders on some of my scans.
All in all, a very fun purchase. Can't wait for the next one!!
Got mine today, saving the 78 fb cello. Did open the two 72' OPC packs, very disappointing. Both wrappers were ripped in back and almost every card had a stain(gum I assume). If all the 72 OPC are this way I would not open them.
