    There's nothing wrong with making rational preparations that don't take over normal living...

    Except that's not entertaining at all for TV! Nobody would watch (or buy commercials during) a show filmed at our (well, most of us's) "preparing for the worst" activities

    Sooo, they have to 'profile' some tinfoil hat wearers really hamming it up for the cameras... of course we will tune in for amusement...
