SB over/under and why???

BobSBobS Posts: 1,738 ✭✭
Heading out to LV for the game. usually bet on a winner, but never win and end up getting pissed.

So this year, screw it, I decided to root for either defense or offense instead. Just haven't decided which yet.

I beleive the O/U is at 55.

Which do you like and why?

I am going with the under. 55 is very high, and both of these defenses have played much better during the playoffs than they did during the regular season. I am guessing WAY under 55. Like 17-14 Giants.

Giants willscore somewhere in the high 30s or low 40s. Therefore take the under.

14 points for the Pats? Tom Brady is going to scoff at that.

I think the Pat's will romp and I think it's going over. They are begging you to take the under and the Giants. MJ

  • You can work in a couple ways. They will offer an over/under bet for the game and 1st & 2nd halfs. I like the over for the game. If I were to bet the half, I'd probably take the under on the first half and the over on the second half. No real reason why, but just a hunch. There are so many bets that can be made that you can afford to loose a few. One thing to check though - is what the pay back is. Any casino that doesn't pay 90 cents on the dollar, I won't bet. Some have dropped their payouts to 85 on the dollar.

apparently, the early money likes the under....I believe it opened at 55.5, and I've seen 54.5 this morning.

As of right now I'm thinking over, especially if the line comes down just a little bit.

I feel both teams are going to come out firing, but how much scoring will result?

You will get approx 50% responses saying to take the under, approx 50% will say take the over. Go with your gut.

Under. SB 42, score was 7-3 at the half. Earlier this year I think it was 0-0 at the half. And both teams are going to be really bearing down on D. Both teams have bend and don't break defenses (Pats were like in the top half on points against). I think there will be more running/short passes that will eat up clock.
