Very Nice Mike, you have some classic cards in that mix! I personally feel that the Bird/Magic/Dr. J card is going to spike again. Love that card.

Man, I remember chasing those Beam Team cards back in 92. Shaq was just blowing up back then, and Bporter and I were ripping through packs like they were candy. You have major diversity in your collection Mike, well done.

Rick you know you are it for me, you'll have a package delivered tomorrow.

There is a beautiful Eli Manning 2004 Bowman Chrome Eli Manning BGS 9.5/10 Auto Gold #D to 50

As well as a few Brady RC's worth $1200 to $1500 each, plus my usual raw cards, jersey's, etc.

When I first started selling with Rick, collecting, not really knowing what I was doing. Well I still don't, but that's okay. Anyway I would send Rick like 15 Mike Schmidt cards from the mid 80's, or Jersey cards worth $5 a piece at best. Don't get me wrong Rick will sell about anything, but I had to learn that they need to go for at least $20 or so.

I was sending him some low grade stuff, and I will admit it took me 3 months or so to figure out what made sense to sell, and what didn't. If I had to guess maybe you've sold 2,500 auctions for me or so. I could be way off. Either way your the man, and I appreciate the way you do business.

Okay back to sharing more cards.

These aren't the greatest cards or the most valuable, but they mean something to me. I have them all excel spreadsheeted out, purchase date or date graded, cost, and current value. They sit at the bank with a copy of the spreadsheet and that is that. It keeps building, good thing I got the biggest one they had there.

Someday I hope my kids will appreciate them.

Or this that I won earlier. If you don't know lego Star Wars are on fire!!! This might be the only one out there in a Mint box, with original packaging from the factory. Millenium Falcon. I am spreading out my collecting a bit. Just missed a CGC 4.5 Amazing Fantasy Spiderman first issue the other night.

  • Okay here are some more... A few of them could be crossed over.

    image

Did I say I love New England sports??? Got to have some of one of the greatest. I mean 5 super bowls trips in 11 years isn't too bad I guess.

Just picked these up recently. If they win I might flip them, if not I'm quite happy owning them.

This was pulled out of a pack when I started collecting again back in 08, the spring time right after my wife was diagnosed. Anyhow I didn't know who PSA was, this still is a POP 1 I believe...

    image

I have another one of these coming...

I really like the Peyton auto card! Out of sight!

I like this Brady card - superb - were you here when we had the "discussion" on how one of his cards went thru a bit of "surgery" and slipped by the graders?
    Mike
  • No but it sounds interesting or like a horror story. If I am down and out with one of mine that sucks, I'll need AAPL to go up $6 a share tomorrow to make back just one of these...

Stock just for a second. I did this last year and I am choosing my words carefully. D knows and a few of you do as well. CLTC stock is making another run. I am just saying, it's a great stock to own, and it pays right at an 8.5% dividend. Moving on....

Anyway, this Brady story doesn't sound good... image

Mike - it was a Beckett grading debacle - so PSA could care less - here's the card:

If you check the foot - you will see that there's a bit trimmed off his shoes:

  • Wow, looks like there could be a bit taken of the top too. At least compared to the 8.5 it looks that way. Trim up top, trim down bottom. Wait...

Wish Steve "winpitcher" were here - he has a better memory then I - I'm thinking this was sold by a well known trimmer/seller. They say he was using a really nice laser cutter?
