can the whites prism be used in a shallow creek maybe 1 foot. as long as i dont get the unit wet. only the coil

You shouldn't have any problems in a foot of water as long as only the coil and lower shaft get wet. Just be sure not to lift the coil too high when wet... don't want gravity carrying water down the shaft into the electronics.

I agree... coil is fine... be sure connections are still watertight. And do not lift coil above box... Cheers, RickO
