Mel Wacks Newps
I simply cannot resist these!

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Link to pics of many of Mel Wacks' counterstamps.
The very First Mel Wacks counterstamp commemorating the Viking 1 Trip to Mars.
The Second counterstamp Commemorating the Turkey for Thanksgiving 1976. This one was done to commemorate the fact that Ben Franklin wanted the Turkey to be the National Bird instead of the Bald Eagle.
The Thirst Counterstamp by Mel Wacks was the 1978 Camp David Peace Accord Peace Dollar.
Lastly, Mel sent me one of the Papal Peso Coins that split when the counterstrike was applied.
I need to get Todd to photograph these so that the beautiful toning is correctly displayed. I gave it a shot but its not nearly what it could be.

These came on covers in 1976, postmarked by the P.O. in Turkey, TX. The envelopes are what imparted the rich toning on many of these.
