Rediscovered a Morgan that I forgot I had

Thought I would image it.
Can't see it to well on the full image, but there is toning on top of the date and
stars between the date and the letter M. I've never seen toning only on the top of the numbers/letters before.
What causes this?

the "toning" is from the grease/sawdust combo with exposure to environmental compounds - most of the time natural and accepted by the TPGs
the more dollars you look at the more you realize the grease/sawdust/toning trio is simply inconsistent because the dies/planchets weren't covered completely
for every coin.
i personally give coins with a lot of grease/sawdust combo the highest rating since they have not been monkeyed with by people the majority of the time.
a lot of dipped coins will not exhibit that stuff because it gets removed unfortunately.
.
Where is this supposed exposure to Morgans documented ?
