Seattle Boeing Coin Show report. :)

I know you're all dying to know if the show came off as planned. Well, it did. Kent was clearly hit harder than other parts of Seattle by the recent storm - lots of streets still closed and many trees still down. The folks at Kent Commons however were ready to go.
Show opened promptly at 10. Stood in line for a bit with Bochiman and his son - good to catch up and meet his fine young son.
Made a quick run by all the tables looking for key slabs and didn't see anything really interesting, so settled back and started looking at coins.
After an hour Bochiman asked what I thought of the Doily with the half-dime. What Doily, I asked?
We quickly made a bee line for the table and were quickly enjoying a nice banter with the dealer and his mother. I pulled out a few Doilies to share with them to include the 1837 half-dime Boiler78 sold me a while back. We finally came to an agreement on the Doily and another half-dime, this one in a rattler.

Spent another hour on the bourse, then met with Bochiman and Swampboy to swap stories and share coins. It was a real treat to see some really nice, carefully selected well matched 1/2 cents and proof IHC's, one of which is the most beautiful green color I've ever seen in a PCGS holder. Nope, not for sale.
Shortly after, while chatting about forum stuff, we ran into Seattle Slammer who had overheard us talking. He had grabbed a newp that I had hesitated on, a nice coin in a 3.5 holder, and I'll let him share that, if he chooses. If you didn't buy it, PM me and I'll go back tomorrow.
Glad the show went off as planned. Looks like Charmy couldn't make it. If others were there and I missed you, hopefully we can connect another time.

Oh and my two inches was 11 inches thick with a inch of frezing rain on top.

The show must go on!
<< <i>Sorry I missed you guys. Ice Snow and tree coming threw the roof ment no Coin show. Still on generator power since Thrusday.
Hope you stay warm and dry. Much damage to the roof?
PS: If you need a dry place to store your half dollars, we are cold here in Maine but dry
Thanks for letting me fondle your avatar coin......wow does it ever pop with color and luster in-hand! One of a kind.
So, no PM tonight - you bought the coin??
No offense to the OP at all, but compared to inhand, his pictures of the coin sucks
Both of those coins look nice in the pics but really nice inhand.
I did find it funny that he bumped into me twice, grousing "I can't find any doilies. There's nothing here". Then, at probably my 4th or 5th table, looking for half-cents or anything my son liked or that was cool, I see the doily IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CASE, just leaping out at me. About 5 minutes after trying to describe a "doily" to my son so he would be on the watch as well.
I then spent about 5 minutes looking for the OP as, while I kept finding him when I wasn't looking for him, as soon as I wanted him, he couldn't be found
Best.Show.In.A.Long.Time! Thanks again for making it that way guys.
Oh yeah, and Lindedad......stop your bragging....to some of us, 2 inches is a lot......of snow
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>Nice coin even without the doily >>
I agree, congrats
I like how that lady you picked up those cool holders from
Won't be long before someone sets up at a show with a "Collectible Holders" table.
btw the way, did I hear you say that there are more counterfeits of your avatar than extant specimens?
The original skin on that piece was amazing. Simply amazing.

I am really disappointed you didn't mention the rare holder I recently sold you
I expect a follow-up, or I am going to stop supplying you with the good stuff.
I was going to devote an ENTIRE thread to it - just couldn't figure out how to shoe-horn it into the Boeing report.
