Great pickup! Let us all know what it looks like in hand. And I would LOVE to see bigger more detailed images.
I considered buying this one too (back in October) but was concerned about getting this in a PCGS slab, which is almost always like pulling teeth with toned copper. I did find out from the seller back in October that he submitted it to PCGS for crossing at the 66 grade back in 2009, but PCGS gave it a DNC (Did Not Cross) designation.
The seller then sent it to CAC, where it got a green bean.
If I could have seen larger images of it, I might have bought it anyway. But the images on the ebay listing were just too tiny to see any real detail and the seller said he didnt have any larger photos available. Sort of an odd thing (to me at least) as the first thing I would do with an MPL is ship it off to one of the great photographers to get some nice clear images!!
Anyway be sure to post some better photograps (as I have been curious about this coin for months)!
Do you plan on Trying to get this in a PCGS slab? Perhaps PCGS would cross it if you allowed them to drop it to a 65 level. If you do manage to get this in PCGS plastic, please get it TrueView photographed (out of the slab) by Phil Arnold and post that image.
I had forgotton about your greatest MPLs,and i think the coin is a solid 66BN,any service,i just dont usually play the crossover or upgrade game. Will have other pics done and will keep you posted.Best,Lloyd

I have larger pics, but you sounded like a tire ticker and asked for big discounts so I did not wish to continue dealings with you.
See i think the coin is radical color wise and PQ for the grade too.Glad Dave gave me that sweet deal,i am told that sometimes you have to step up for monster toned coins, but as a new collector to stuff with color i could be wrong.

First off, totally kickass coin! Nice pick-up, Lloyd!
Secondly, I have dealt with the seller before and Dave (Cohodk) is totally reasonable. Never an issue in the years of dealing with him on the boards.
It is all in how you approach someone and how you present yourself. Wingedliberty....by even getting into what you are getting into, in someone else's thread about the coin, and then to continue by posting private exchanges which have nothing to do with the thread (ie...it should be between you and the seller), you are showing yourself as someone that some folks would not want to do business with and proving Dave's point about avoiding you. I know I would not want to do business with you based on your public interactions I have seen in this thread.
That is a very nice coin, and easily imaginable in a PCGS holder at some point. In fact, if it were in a PCGS holder, I'd imagine that it would have been snapped up years ago by some other MPL collector, never to be seen in public again. In that regard, you really lucked out, and in my opinion, your money was well spent.
Lloyd, all I can add is wow! what a beautiful coin and great pics Dave. Someone made the statement that you had set the bar high for yourself with this start and I agree. Dave is a great seller to do business with and he most certainly sold you a sweet coin. I have never been able to buy an MPL yet(and I mean yet), but someday although, I doubt it will be as sweet as yours. Again, Congrats on a beauty. Jim

I'd keep it in that slab, not worth it to change it and it's already got a sticker too.
