OT.....Anyone here name one of their kids after a fav sports hero?

Just curious if anyone did or was able to go to the extreme and name one of their kids after a player that was a favorite when growing up? I tried to get the first name, but my wife only granted me the middle name. Cam Neely was and is my favorite athlete of all time and I was able to give my son his middle name Cameron.

    My youngest son's Middle Name is Brooks (after Brooks Robinson)

    My son's name was a choice between Edward Charles and Henry Louis - we went with Henry Louis.

    i named my kid after the great mets pitcher J.J Putz.....that was a big mistake !!! no longer with the mets

    My dad's name is Terry Dean, named after Bill Terry and Dizzy Dean. I always remind him he could have been named Dizzy Bill.

    My son's name is Jordan Michael. Had to switch it around because Michael is a family middle name.

    My oldest son's name is Will and I call him Thrill (his middle name is John for my grandad - plus I didn't think I could pull of Nuschler image ). My youngest son is Luke (I campaigned for that one becuase I liked the Star Wars reference but my wife doesn't know that...). I constantly go around saying "Luke, I am your father."

    I named my daughter after my favorite player growing up - Browns WR Fair Hooker. There was no way I was going to name her Fair. That would just sound silly.

    No kids yet, but our youngest 4 legged child is named Cooper after Cooper Manning.

    A guy I used to work with loved Jason Varitek, and wanted to name his son Jason. But the wife's longtime ex-boyfriend was a Jason, so she wouldn't go for the name. So they went with a middle name of Varitek for the son.

    We've had cats named Fencik (Bears Gary Fencik), Urlacher, Pujols, and the latest one is Timmy (after Tebow).

    I wanted to name my oldest daughter Ervina (after Magic Johnson, my wife refused). Our next child had it
    been a boy was to be Cordell (after Chuck Norris character), but we had another girl.

    And I tried to get my son named Brian (after Brian McBride) but my wife once again interefered........

    So no, but not for lack of trying.

    I wouldn't say y son is named after a famous sports hero, but we got the idea for his name while watching the University of Georgia playing the College World Series. The lights out closer they had that year was named Joshua Fields, and we decided we liked the name and named him Joshua. It ended a 3 month stalemate of arguing over names ;-)

    My wife wouldn't let me name my son Dizzy so he got my name of Dean then I wanted to nickname him BUBBA but the most I could get then was BUBBY and now he is 13 years old and we still call him BUB. At least I did get to name the cat Mickey.
