Paypal holding the fund again

I really don't understand PayPal, why they always do something to upset buyer and sellers. I sold a coin on weekend and the buyer paid it right away. I mailed the coin out yesterday since Monday is a holiday and updated the tracking number. Today PayPal emailed me that the fund is under PayPal review. I called PayPal they told me the fund will release to me once the coin is delivered. I asked why they do that they told me that they need to make sure the payment was authorized payment. So I emailed the buyer asked him to call PayPal which he did. PayPal told him they hold the fund for no reason. Any one else has such experience with paypal?

there is a reason, you just have to find out what it is
.
They normally do this with sellers less than 100 feedback as a seller and also do it whenever a red flag shows up on the transaction. Sometimes they do it for no reason other than a spot check of the transaction.

The problem is they pick on the little guys to keep their cash flow up, then once the item is delivered they take another few days to release the funds, then a few more days to send the money to your bank account. all that float, even with the low interest rates adds up

Y'all do remember that Pay Pal is owned by eBay and that eBay does all kinds of
stuff with no rhyme nor reason. I once belived it was all depending upon which
way the wind was blowing or perhaps how tthe stars were aligned. But I have
since realized that who ever controls things in the eBay universe have got their
head so far up where the sun does not shine and there is no hope on our planet
to be able to understand the things that either company does.
<< <i>Since I've been a "new" member of eBay again, I have had "funds hold" on all sales for months...I just have to plan on not seeing the money for up to 45 days or so. I'm not sure why...I tried to ask them but they don't give a clear reason, just canned email responses.
Paypal told me that even high volume, high dollar sellers have become a risk as many overextend themselves trying to continue their growth. For this reason paypal holds a portion of funds up to 45 days on many good, reputable sellers. Just another cost of doing business - it's still money in the bank. The safer paypal makes using their service the better it is for all parties.

despite this i am overall pleased with the service i get from ebay and paypal as a seller.

Get established with over 100 FB to your credit and this will not be an issue. All newbie eBay sellers go through that routine. It might also occur if your monthly sales volume drastically increases over your previous average monthly volume.
(To many newby scammers on eBay )
<< <i>I have the same problem with ebay. They hold my funds for up to 21 days and then release them in dribs and drabs. It is because I have a below standard seller performance. Although my feedback is perfect with over 85 feedbacks, some of my customers gave me low marks for communication and I think time to deliver. I may have deserved it but it only happened a few times and I am of the opinion ebay does this to increase their cash flow. I will be reevaluated on jan 20 so they say and hopefully my performance will be up to snuff. you can call and complain but i am just going to work my self out of this hole hopefully over the next few months.

I am a five star, top rated seller with over 1800 feedback and never a neg. Paypal holds $1000 dollars of my money at all times and holds an additional 5% of every transaction for 45 days. At the moment they are holding over $2K of my money. I will never see the first $1000 until I close my account, and even then it will take months. They tell me I'm getting one of the better "holdback" deals they offer. Takes some getting used to, but you do get used to it.

<< <i>These are two different things. A payment review is a very temporary hold (usually less than a day) where PayPal checks the payment, then gives you the okay to clear. For newer sellers, they will sometimes withhold the funds for 21 days or until feedback is left, to ensure the seller doesn't jump ship with the funds and go off into the oblivion. >>
Mine is pyapal review. It is over a day now. I gave them usps receiptand tracking to show I mailed it out. They said it need to show the address but even the tracking number will never show the address. They just wanted to hold the account. BTW, I got the fund already. I always move the money to my bank in just a minute once I got the fund. Now paypal want the money back and holding my account so I can't pay for my ebay purchases.

<< <i>I've never had paypal funds held. Been there since 99 though. >>
Likewise...been there since 2000.

Suggest you transfer the funds back into your paypal account. That move will save you a major headache in the near future. PayPal wants the item delivered and preferably feedback left from the buyer before releasing the funds. After all, a sellers package could contain "rocks" instead of whatever was sold.
<< <i>I can see paypal will move to hold the fund for everyone later. They are testing the market and seller reaction now. They never did this to me before but now they start doing it. >>
Unlikely, as long as you stay within your historical selling history parameters. A large up tick in volume may trigger a review of your account though.
I was trying to figure out ebays software....and I remind you , I am a complete internet idiot.
The one account that I am mostly using to sell right now ...my feedback is 600+, I use it for selling and I average a decent amount for each transaction. My DSR's are 4.95 across the board. I get DSR ratings on about 90% of my transactions. I do not do a store.
So, I had a brainstorm. What if I pay my ebay invoice before they generate it? I wonder what effect that would have? I paid my ebay 'bill' on the last day of the month at 5pm before it was generated. On the 1st, ergo, I had a zero balance. I've done this two months in a row. The first month, they left 1 cent in my account(I paid the amount IN FULL)...possibly to deduct this from my checking account to see if my account was still active at the bank.
They gave me 50,000 free listings a month, the next month. No need to do a store now
And I can do unlimited 1 and 3 day auctions. If you have a lot of eyes, 1 and 3 day auctions are quite good.
My conclusion is that EBAY likes 5's on your DSR's, no problem transactions and fast payment of what's owed them. The fast payment was the only change in my behaviour.

I will never do that. I don't care if paypal close my account or not. I don't like them anyway.
<< <i>I've never had any problems in that regard, but I generally leave any sales money in the PP account, and don't plan on using it for nat least a week after I mail the item. >>
If you leave the money on your PP account why would they want to hold the fund? There is no need for them to do that since you voluntary do that for them. The goal for PayPal is to try to get your money stay in PP, if you don’t do that they will try to make some excuses to force it.

Money left in an account can be withdrawn at any time. Money "held" in an account cannot be withdrawn at any time.

i also withdraw as soon as the money hits my PP, leaving enough in for eBay fees and pay that before it is due.
sometimes one needs to do things overboard when dealing with a "superpower" this is one where i choose to.
