    It is neat that you found an 1884-CC intact in the inner capsule of a "doily" holder, but unfortunately the outer frame is missing. This usually diminishes the collector interest for the style of holder. There actually is a way to remedy this, but that is a trade secret. image

    Yeah, I knew it didn't have the outer ring when I picked it up, but I just thought it was cool to find another one a couple of days after the 1st.

    Trade secret...hmm.. you have me thinking hard on how to do that. They seem attached, not just a snap on.
    Does anyone know what holders had similar outer rings?
  • Does anyone have a pic of the scarce black holders from across the street,and an idea of their value?
