Not my collection, but I did buy a set from him that I was happy with.
Literally millions of cards. Nice guy, his dad had a shop in the 80s and is selling everything in one gigantic transaction. The sons are in college and getting married and none of them want to keep this stuff anymore.
I was considering buying the whole thing but it is too far away from me and frankly, I don't have the room.
It fills up half the floor of a basketball court, so it is sizeable.
About 1200 wax boxes and some cases (all 80s I believe, like 5 unopened cases of '89 Hoops series I) and 3000 loose packs
He says 1,134 5000-ct boxes of cards
Hundreds of complete sets and partial sets (about 2 of each year between '69 and '79 I think) and partial sets from the 60s (lower grade on these maybe EXMT), TONS of sets from the 80s
for instance, he has about 25 complete sets of '84T football
He also has lots of vintage football as well, not sure of condition
Huge quantity deal if anyone is interested. He and his son are nice guys, easy to deal with
He knows the value of this 80s stuff has plummeted, and appears realistic on current price
Could be a great deal for someone who has the cash and is able to transport.
The pics show only a small portion of what they have
If you are interested in contacting them, PM me and I will give you info.
I plan to bump this thread thru Tuesday then I will let it go.
Thanks

I wonder if there is any 86/87 Fleer Basketball in there?
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

I recall he has about 3 complete sets with graded Jordans (not necessarily PSA), and a couple more sets minus the Jordan
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

There could be stuff hidden in there.
I know a lot of it is junk
But there is also lots of good stuff that he picked up late 80s early 90s before it really took off in value, ie, 70s sets and such
I asked him about Mantles, he said he had a few

I live in Cincinnati, you buy it and I will help you load it!

<< <i>My estimate is that the collection is worth maybe $50-60K but that is totally a guess.

So it is worth 50-60.
What does he want for it? There will be many hours needed to sort it. And even more to try and break it up to be sold.
I am interested. But the distance it too much.
