    Also,
Watch the video, the characterization of the "gold bug" is quite humorous.

It is a nice bar (I didn't get to see the video, though).
It may become collectible but the collector base will be very small.
Would you buy it? I would not unless my wife was a fan of JPG!

I can just see people walking into B&M's with these saying "But I paid a 10% premium for this because of the designer label!"

  • Sorry, I'm not impressed with the design, maybe something more inspired by the medallic arts would work.

Bye for now, need to put in more work on my bunker.

the pushing of "collectible" bullion, for the premium, is indicative of a softening PM market?

I agree, easy to buy for a premium over spot, not as easy to get the premium back on the way out

Attractive, and certainly even the mint charges a premium for AGE's... But I don't want one. Cheers, RickO

For many years we had a collector who wanted as many different gold bars as he could get. He had over 3,500 ounces worth, including kilos and fractional kilos from all the major manufacturers, etc. WHenever we got something in that was cute we would offer it to him, but almost never at a premium (except stuff like U.S. Assay Office bars).

When gold got up to $1,000 an ounce he decided to sell. We took some stuff on consignment, but found that at that spot level nobody would buy "cute" bars at any premium, including people on here who had previously paid premiums for things like Degussa "kit kat" shaped bars. At these gold levels virtually nothing is colledtible.
