It is for sure....I was a Phillies fan as a youngster and when I could, I would enjoy watching the Phillies play there on TV in the days of Dick Allen, Johnny Callison, Tony Taylor, Don Demeter, Tony Gonzalez, Art Mahaffey, Chris Short, Dallas Green, Clay Dalrymple.....

Woohoo! I just picked up the last three cards that I need to complete this set....the last two cards I found at the National last week! At the National, I picked up Fornieles and Keough and I bought the Burdette from Venezuela about two weeks ago. They are off to grading land now.

Don - such a great set, and congrats on the completion. What perfect synchronicity when the last three pieces come together in one place. This set is like a parallel universe to me - my favorite set, the same poses but just a little different.

As Al alluded to, here is the story of my find at the National:
The best part of the National happened at the end of the day on Wednesday. I was exhausted after a long day walking the floor so I decided to go to the hotel to relax a short while about 6 PM. As I was walking out, I decided to stop by to say hello to John Rumierz who is a Venezelan baseball card guru. His table was right next to the main entry area.
I have been working on trying to complete a 1960 Venezuela Topps baseball set for about 5 years now. I have needed only three common cards for quite awhile and I have just about given up ever finding them. One of the cards that I needed was Lou Burdette and I found one with a seller in Venezuela about two weeks ago.
That left two commons that I have never seen nor have had any success in locating in 5+ years to finish my set. So as I approached John's table, there was a guy standing there talking to John and showing him some cards in a small album. I could tell they were Venezuelan baseball cards...1959, 1960 and 1962's. Once he left John's table, I mentioned to the guy that I am two cards short of a set and asked him if he possibly had one of the cards. He mentioned that he only collected Red Sox cards so all the cards were only Red Sox players. I mentioned to him that I was looking for Mike Fornieles and Marty Keough. It suddenly dawned on me that both were Red Sox cards. He looked in his album (he had about 20+ 1960 cards in there) and he had both of the cards that I needed to finish my set!! I could not believe my good luck. So I proceeded to buy them from him and now my 1960 Venezuela Topps set is COMPLETE!! This is so unexpected and such a big reason that I love going to the National....you just never know what you will find unexpectedly.
If I would have been 5 minutes earlier or 5 minutes later going to John's table, I would have never connected with the collector who had the album of Venezuela Topps cards....pure luck!

It took a long time to find a Yaz and it is PSA 1....it is so difficult. If I find another one, I will let you know. They are just so rare though. Good luck in your search!

Now that you're 100% complete, will you continue to look for upgrades? Or move on to a different project?
Truly extra ordinary set
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

The easy 'tell' for first series cards in 1960 is that the Venezuelan cards are gray backs whereas the US 1960 Topps are all white backs.
