Very nice 1815. Congrats! I got about half way with my halves and sold them. I have not graded halves in a long time, but If it was a quarter I'd say VF35- XF40

I just couldn't NOT buy this when the local dealer showed me the collection that he just bought from an old guy. This coin is raw with THICK skin. We'll see how she grades when I finally get enough coins to submit my 8 "freebies". Here are some better(bigger) pics. (I guess if you try to get too big, they chop you back to the size of the OP?)
Any apparent scratches or die breaks are actually part of the multiple die clashes that happened before this coin was struck. (at least 3)
Really nice look to it, I like it. I'm not an expert by any means but I was thinking vf-25 or vf-30.Maybe thats being to tough though. very nice original coin anyway thats not been messed with.

pretty significant acomplishment, and a mighty fine example to finish it off with!

Tough date to find with a nice look to it, and you certainly picked yourself a winner!!
Keep us posted after you hear back from PCGS.
I've been keeping my eyes open for a VF 1815 like that myself...nice score !
