I will most likely be in for some packs that YOU would be breaking; particulary 73. I have no interest in the 75 minis at this point.

i'm in on the minis and probably some of the others as well.

edited to say my interest is 75 minis and 79 rack only.

The last break Dave ran yielded fantastic cards. Ask anyone who participated. Your allegations are way off base here.

I think you should keep your comments to yourself or pm people in private before you start bashing people about their breaks.
If you have any questions you should ask around first.....
Like Grote15 said earlier Dave's last break yielded some very nice cards, plus even the commons were very well centered!!!
  • Last break run by 70'sToppsFanatic went perfectly and resulted in some of the best centered mini's seen in some time. Everyone was very happy with their results. Looking forward to this upcoming break!image

If you don't like who's running it, don't participate. Dave is a straight up, honest guy. I did a major transaction with him on the boards and it went very smoothly.

Just because somebody has a lot of posts here doesn't guarantee they are honest. Just look at Clayshooter.

    +1

Post count has no bearing on whether someone is honest and trustworthy. It also doesn't reflect someones knowledge and bankroll.

I don't think there should be any worry regarding Dave.

    Cardboardkeeper,

You concerns are legitimate, and I refer you to my last break thread for 75 minis from oct/nov where you will find plenty of
additional information I provided about myself to allay such concerns. The results of that break should also help remove any
    concerns along these lines.

For those who were kind enough to provide positive references, I sincerely appreciate your support, and will continue to strive
    to be deserving of it.

And lastly, I am still on the lookout for something like the sealed case we have decided not to chase tonight to be exclusively used
for a future forum break. I wish we could have gotten this one, but I am confident there will be future opportunities that provide better
    value

  • I think this is just an elaborate spam by an old CU entity who doesn't want their previous ID to be known.

Series 4 is 397-528 and includes perry, mccovey and the ATG series.

Series 5 is 529-660 and includes cepeda, Boone rc, schmidt rc, Yankees team, frank Howard and potentially a bunch of variations

Man would I love to see a PSA 9 or PSA 10 Schmidt rc come out of one of these packs.

I believe Dave is going to start an official thread early next week. This one is only to gauge interest, if I understand correctly.

Based on feedback I'm seeing here I'll try to get an official thread up so we can start
    9pm EST Saturday

Wish we had more material so that we could do boxes on this one too, but not looking too likely
    for that this time.

I was talking about Dave Foo. He's the one selling all his cards here in the discussion forum.

It's a spam, a nice spam but a spam none the less.
  • Ahhh, then let me come out and officially say that I believe Cardboardkeeper is Blackitalian, jayboog, Sam52 and whatever else hes gone by.

I've had several transactions with him and all have gone smoothly and without a hitch. I believe in the original box break thread, he even posted his personal contact info (which did check out as being completely legit), which is certainly not the behavior of an alt or someone who has something to hide. On what do you base your assumption on?

Edit to add: Nevermind, my intention is not to distract from the thread with this needless speculation. As many here have already posted and attested to, the cards that came out of the boxes he sold were better than most any minis I've seen, and I've opened a lot of mini packs. I believe someone even graded a PSA 9 Ryan #500, which is a 1K card.

I'll be happy to call it off if anyone is seriously concerned about that night crawler. My motivations, based on past experiences so far, should
    have proven otherwise by now

The facts are that there is limited vintage unopened material available in the market. For group breaks like these it is even more limited because
few other than BBCE are willing to make the effort to break down items into smaller units.

You may recall that the first break I did was motivated by the fact that a 75 rack box was broken here and many missed out because it was launched late at night. I had a decent amount of 75 mini boxes and thought it might be a nice gesture to make some available because a bunch of people who missed out. Given what came from those boxes I am pretty sure that there were a lot of very happy people here.

This current effort started when I offered to try and get the MH case at auction on behalf if the group. I am fortunate to be able to do things like that, but the intent was to do it as a pass through from the outset. So as not to disappoint, I also promised that if the MH case got too pricey I'd put a few more boxes of the nice 75 minis up so that we could still have a break.

To put any concerns you might have to rest, while I do have some of the other boxes i suggested adding in my personal collection the plan is to bring in new boxes from a reliable source that is not willing to do breaks like BBCE unless they run out. Doing the break down work myself is a labo of love so that we GROW interest and participation in this hobby that we all enjoy. At the end of the day that is my primary reason for doing this.

But as I stated at the top of this, if a significant number of members here feel as you do I will gladly back off.

    Dave
  • Hey Dave, might as well keep going. You already got Joey, aka Cardboardkeeper aka, Blackitalian, aka Jayboog, aka Sam1952 to make a topic about your Babe Ruth Rookie for sale image

So you admit you have no idea about Dave?

And Dave, after a being here a month you start running group rips like an old pro. You claim your only concern is for the good members here and how they missed out so you stepped up... for them. You were actually going to try and dictate all the new rules to go along with group rips... for them. Digging out all your unopened... for them.

Threatening litigation to someone that commented that you put alot of faith in Mile High.

Let's face it, selling all your cards is what you're doing, and at a nice profit too it seems.

I don't need you to stop doing anything. Everyone can line up and buy all your stuff because you made it fun.
  • Dave, so what exactly is going to be available for this break? Was just looking for a breakdown, maybe I missed that between you flaunting your Ruth and Wagner around...lol

First, he is a trusted member. Besides the fact a few senior members vouched for him in HIS prior rip, there are many more that will since. It's not every day you get a box with almost every card centered. It's also not every day a scammer leaves a potentially gem mint Nolan Ryan card in a resealed pack.

Lastly, he has been getting offers for the rest of his boxes from me and I'm sure a few other members. We know the potential in the unopened he has in his collection. Sure, it's a risk as the boxes could be off center but from everyone'e experience (box/case rippers), it's more than likely the cards will look similar to those that came out of the first box because they are from the same case.

Look at it this way, he doesn't have to do this but he's sharing what he has with others and getting a small return on his investment. Whether a forum member takes part in this rip is up to them, however, all his 75 Minis he puts up for sale will be sold.

  • I guess no ones seen The Hustler.

He's not sharing anything, he's selling it. His small return is called profit.

Of course the 75s will be sold, he/she's not handing them out as ass wipe.

So what was your previous ID here? You've been here about a month longer than me and seem to know everyone by name plus people that had alts way before you showed up.
  • This is actually my first time here.

You dont have to be here for 3 years or have 500,000 posts before you can start picking up things, and the way I know a lot of these guys by name is because they have added there names (such as I do sometimes) after a post or through pm's.

You're absolutely right, it is called profit. Who knew you could actually make one in this hobby!
Are you so disgruntled and mad at the world that you can't believe there are people on this board that are concerned about others before themselves?
You do understand that Dave has been bombarded with offers for the FULL boxes however is holding out to sell them in the potential group rip?
Since you have issues tracking, that means he'd rather sell them to 12-24 people opposed to just one individual.
Lastly, "grote15" just posted his submission results of a handful of cards from Dave's last rip.
This is one elaborate scam Dave's pulling! Resealing those packs with PSA 9/10 quality cards!

P.S. Nightcrawler, I'll meet you after school in the alley! >/
