It would depend on how many were in the box, whether or not I got to buy the entire hoard, and whether or not the find could be kept secret.

I would also want to know how much it would cost to order a similar supply of black holders from China...

NGC would not offer to slab coins in them to mimic the "NGC Black Slab." They understand the value of their product and brand and would not risk having collectors "duped" by sellers offering new "old" NGC Black Slabs.

Since NGC could easily duplicate the Black Slab, it they wanted to offer it again, they would have already done so. Not everyone is obsessed with "rare" slabs ... just some of us goof balls.

I read a thread somewhere that was intended to show NGC that there is consumer demand to offer the black slab service as an option again. Apparently, many of the old NGC collectors loved the way that gold coins appeared in the black slabs. I don't think it would be difficult to tell the difference from the new an old slabs since the only similarity would be the color of the insert. All of the other features would be the same as the current NGC slab, including the labels. I just found the thread, it was posted by Greg in 2003, lol.
