My first gold for 2012

I detected at high school baseball and softball field today. The coins were coming pretty slow and then I found a nice 10k gold ring. It has the kids name in it so I'm working on getting it back to him. It showed up as a nickel on the panel. I did finally end up with $3.50+ for the day.

My first day of hunting for the new year was last Wednesday. I was on a Little League field and had about $2 worth of change and then I ran into a penny "mine field". I found about 50 in a 10ft X 10ft area. I don't know what was going on on that outfield.

    Yep , good luck with the ring , nice find. I was reading just yesterday about a fellow finding a womans 1923 class ring and he managed to trace her grandson to return the ring. After 30 some years detecting ive not found a single piece of gold in any form whatsoever.Loads of silver,no gold.
