It is too easy for your hand to graze over the "bid" button when you are intending to deactivate it. Well, at least it is PCGS/CAC. image

    LOL!

Just having the page open on the computer makes me plenty nervous. Left alone, my 5 year-old could re-arrange my personal finances and coin-collecting goals dramatically.

Did you just buy up the entire Duckor collection?

I am always careful for fear of the same thing, while watching the Duckor saints, the monitor goes blank about 3 x over the duration, I always have to hit a key to bring the screen back up. I always hope it doesnt hit the bid button on the wrong coin, hate to have to try and come up with 500k +

Disable the bidding feature on the HA site until you are just about to bid.

RYK is correct, I learned that costly mistake a few weeks ago.

I have feared doing that and now hearing that it has actually happened, I will be extra careful.

I always deactivate the bid button until my lot gets near. Will watch for it on the BST forum. --Jerry

I doubt it will show up on the BST. I might keep it, but if I sell it, it is not the kind of coin that does well on the BST.

X2, I normally just set the budget feature to also ensure I don't get a nasty surprise outside of my budget.

They need to do it like eBay. Even if you hit bid, you have to hit confirm button. =

For live auctions, they need to keep things moving.

I would rather have the default set as "bidding disabled" and then have to enable to start bidding.

I never updated this thread. I received the coin, and it is quite nice! I will have to "let my fingers do the walking" again sometime.

    sweet.

I remembered this thread when I listed on ebay a shield nickel that I bought trying to bid on my phone. Bought a lot 2 after the lot I was trying to bid on. Nice nickel but doesn't fit into my 1880 date set. --Jerry

    RYK,

That coin is not dirty enough for you. When you tire of it, I will
    take it off your hands.
