I cannot believe that these were actually purchased!

Kennedy Half with No Edge Lines (Reeding)

All apparently purchased by the same newbie who is unaware that the reeding is usually the first thing to get worn off on these half dollars!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Well at least it wasn't for $90 or something...

Some will say "buyer beware", "tuition", "do the research", etc.
I say, the seller is fishing for a sucker and those types of sellers should be shot.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • The reeded edge is clear albeit worn in the pic of the rim.

He's sold better than 39 of these today between a couple of buyers. Thats $156 + shipping.

Hopefully the buyers "share" their good fortune on some message board so that they can learn and return.

The half dollar has obviously spent years as a slot machine coin. Back when the slots used to use coins, I remember seeing many many like this, and they can still be found among rolls of Kennedies from the banks.

If only there were some kind of government agency to advise people on how they should spend their money. People need to be saved from making these kinds of 'stupid' purchases.

    << <i>coin was spooned >>

Coin was casino'ed for a long time (the marks all over the obverse give that away before even getting to the rims)

That goes a long ways explaining why he has so many of them.
  • Well you know the old saying their is a sucker born every minute. At least he's not over charging for shipping, but I dont think he's charging enough. Could that half dollar be shipped for $.44 cents?

With his profit margin at $3.49 per coin, I'm thinking he mounts them in a 2x2, tapes that to an 81/2x11 sheet of paper and mails it with a .44 cent stamp.
