I need some serious help!

I've gone Crazy lately buying up 80's and 90's PSA graded rookies of some of my favorite players I watched play( Smoltz, Schilling, Pedro, Frank Thomas, Biggio, etc...).

On top of that I bought a case of 87 Fleer from BBCE along with 3-87 tin sets, 89 fleer tin set, 3-88 Score Traded Sets, 2-88 Fleer Update sets. I am not sure what the he'll has happened, but I need to stop buying this crap!

As a side note, i am actually surprised at what some of these cards are selling for. 86 Donruss Canseco PSA 10 $73, 91 Bowman Thome PSA 10 $34.

So what's the problem? Nothing wrong with having rookies of your favorite players in your collection, regardless of the decade or value, is there?

A few months ago I almost pulled the trigger on a case of '87 Donruss. I thought it would be super cool to pull about 15-20 each of the McGwire, Jackson, Clark, Bonds and Maddox cards. Then reality set in and I realized that all I was doing was filling up one of my trash cans with 10,000+ pieces of worthless cardboard.

Besides, I basically own a case of '87 Donruss anyway because I can afford to buy one any time I want. image

Nothing wrong with getting some 80's junk Matt. We all get a fix from time to time. Hopefully, you got it out of your system now.

  • you are still buying from DON WEST?
  • Then reality set in and I realized that all I was doing was filling up one of my trash cans with 10,000+ pieces of worthless cardboard.

So true. You can always pcik up 15-20 lots of those key cards the TC mentioned and still save a ton of money AND room in your home.

But I have to admit, something about buying 80's is so much fun. I guess becase theyre old and cheap but had a bunch of great Rookies. I have all the key 80's rookies pretty much out of the way except for 2 cards that I really want and still need - 1984 Fleer Updates Dwight Gooden and Kirby Puckett. Ive seen them in stores but they werent in the condition I wanted so I passed up on them both.
