Anyone else getting destroyed in Heritage?

I have been outbid on everything, and everything is going for well above what I thought it would.
I guess its a good sign for the coin market but wow its frustrating!
Anyone else in the same boat?

And just when I thought I was getting good at predicting these...
The spread, diversity, and quality of this auction are truly impressive, and I'm sure it's causing quite a few people to come out of the woodwork.

<< <i>Completely. I was willing to obliterate the record price for a coin of interest and was subsequently obliterated myself.
Did you go after that great looking 66 10$ Lib in the OGH little while ago, even I thought that was a under-graded gem and I avoid the yellow stuff mostly.
How is dreck doing?
I am going to lot viewing later this morning - before dealer set up.
We may go to a few live sessions - but I have yet to place any Internet
bids.
One coin I wanted is already close to my max, but two others are languishing.

No. All it says is that as usual, there is quite a bit of nice material at FUN, and that people make strong bids for this material. This may carry over into other areas, as collectors bring serious money to FUN. I have never won a single coin at a FUN auction.

<< <i>So... I had the high internet bid when they ended internet bidding on a coin yesterday. This morning my high bid still stood. This afternoon I see that I was outbid even though Live is not up to this coin yet (Session 2 tonight). How did I get outbid? Can phone/mail bids still be accepted after they close the internet bidding? Not sure I want to go any higher on this one but still thinking about it... >>
Mail bids, in person bids, and/or legacy member bids could have snuffed you out.
Legacy clients can bid via the Internet until one hour before the Floor session starts.

Thanks for the replies, obviously I did not realize this until after I was outbid.
Other lot went for $2600 bid, my max bid $2555. PCGS suggested retail was $2600, which is 15% below what this one went for today. The floor bidder must have really like the looks of this coin.
Or are some being bought back by consignors ?
I don't have a dog in this fight but it just seems a strange
pattern; in fact offerings in my darkside area were rather scant.
In the past when I wanted something bad enough I bid crazy and generally & mysteriously got my coins at or very near max bid.
And I am not a "hater", just a bit curious munching popcorn watching the game. I actually LIKE Hertage, just to be clear, but kind of view them as a shark in the pond - big, beautiful and dangerous. Likely will use them when it's time to sell in fact.
Well, just Love coins, period.

Had this happen to me in a Heritage auction last year. I bid way over price guide and none of the under bidders were even close when the Internet bidding closed, yet the live bidding opened and closed right at my high bid. Seemed kind of odd to me because my high bid wasn't a number that could be figured out in any rational way (it wasn't a round number or a multiple of any of the price guides), but I was prepared to shell out what I bid so I didn't really worry about it.
I'm winning the cheapest lot.
Still have 2 cheapies left - I might win 1 of those!
That's not the definition of getting destroyed. You're probably lucky to have been shut out.
Everybody's a "winner" at auction regardless of the price paid.........well, at least until they try to resell the items. That's when the big losers finally get identified.
And in a major auction with thousands of lots, there will be many more losers than winners.
