No pm's for me this week but I did get to shoot with Wingsrule today. If we came across a couple of crooks in a life threatening situation let's just say I would take out the fat one and Wingsrule the skinny one. Nice shooting Tex. MJ

Cool, I got the chance to go out with a buddy twice this week. Tuesday with a rifle and today with pistols. Square pieces of paper with concentric circular patterns fear me! image (What, isn't that the goal?)

Also purchased some Libertads and a couple of 1 oz Perth Mint bars at an average of $1605/oz (no pics - they're still a week or two out). I think the last gold I bought (50 gr. Credit Swisse) was at $1826/oz; so, not bad.

    All-in-all a real good week.

I got to read about MJ's forum date.

"Interest rates, the price of money, are the most important market. And, perversely, they’re the market that’s most manipulated by the Fed." - Doug Casey

  • Yesterday I purchased $35 face in Barber quarters out of a bag of $100 face one of the local dealers had in his back room for 20.5 times face.

Made sure to only pick full rim no problem coins, G-VG with a few in fine.

  • So far, I did not buy any silver art bars from any local dealers this week because they were cleaned out of silver during this December smackdown of silver. I plan to go to a couple of flea markets today to see what silver art bars they have that are interesting to me.

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a '70's silver art bar expert but I try my best to play one on the Internet.

Wanted to get some with the drop but we had a funeral to tend to yesterday. Might shoot to my guy this week, hope the dip stays a tad longer.
  • I picked a couple of 5 oz silver bar and few of my new favorite A-Mark chunky bars!
Unfortunately I missed some 1/4 Pt Eagles. image
Thinking about a roll of Philhas (lowest price I found on govt bullion)but can't decide to pull the trigger.

On Tuesday, picked up an old stamped 10 oz. Canadian "National" silver bar, the horizontal style, as an investment for my sons using their Xmas money and a couple of bucks out of my pocket.

On Thursday, picked up $40 face value in 90% silver -- all half dollars -- paid 20x face. Mostly '64 Kennedys and Franklins, but also had five Barber halves in the lot.

    A good week. image

I picked up a nice Half Eagle, with that famous civil war date of 1861
They have a noticeable scratch in the field on the obverse but other than that it's very nice...
This is my first "no motto" eagle too
