Nice return on Halloween. Former Miami Dolphin, Detroit Lion and Biggest Loser contestant, Scott Mitchell. He also played for the Ravens and Bengals but was better known for playing for the two former teams.

Yeah. Basically a traded card. He did well subbing for an injured Dan Marino and parlayed that into a lucrative free agent deal with the Lions. I'm sure it wasn't totally on him but the Lions gig didn't work out and he ended up moving on.

What do you write in your letters to them? Do you tell them why you "need" their sigs and explain the project? Or not explain it that much? I ask because in my limited TTM experience I haven't been working on a specific set or towards a specific goal, so I limit my letter to my memories of their careers. But I know Doug explains his 52 Topps project when he writes to those guys.

I basically tell the players that I appreciated their time in the league and thank them for it. I tell them that I am doing a 1994 Pro Line Live auto set and would be honored to have their sig in it. I also send them the info so they can go online and check out my set if they care too. I'm sure some have because the set has 3,346 views.
Nice return from over the weekend, Sterling Sharpe. The plan is to get Favre's sig as well but that will cost me some money.
I have a slight dilemma. I sent Sharpe a blue sharpie to sign the card but he chose to use a black one. Not sure why but I'm grateful for the sig regardless. The dilemma is, I really don't like black sigs and paying Favre to sign this card in black (so it matches) doesn't make me very happy. So do I try again with Sharpe? Possibly send another card to Favre first and have him sign in blue, hopefully making Sharpe feel obligated to sign in blue once I send to him?
Or, just get Favre to sign in black and be done with it? It kind of doesn't look that bad to me given the colors on the card.

I'm with Danny on this one. Maybe some of these guys just put aside the cards to sign until a designated time, then they grab their own sharpie and do them all at once.

It's been awhile since I picked up any cards or sent any ttm's out for this set. Got this Johnnys Johnson on ebay the other day. It's a little smudged but for $1.98, I can't complain too much.
Got a surprise in the mail yesterday. I sent this card ttm on 1-15-11. 4 years, 9 months and 24 days ago. Mr Sherrard kept the card in perfect condition as well, which I appreciate very much.
