$50 question

She found out coin places arent open christmas eve or mainly the week between christmas and new years. ( at least the local ones to me). She said think about what coin or coins youd be interested in. I dont know in what direction to go with it. I kinda went over $50 so i dont feel too bad about her going $50 but WHAT SHOULD I GO FOR ? Im lost for ideas. If i got more core items Id be there all day cherry picking ( taking up the GF's time with my coin loupe). Any thoughts?
Since shes kinda interested ( sees my interest and wants to see what shes missing) and wants to learn about coins and all ( maybe if it goes well her son can get into them one day ). But I want to try to avoid ebay cause a B&M experience would be better for her and maybe i can find something that would be missed by sitting on a computer.
Im also kicking around my coin goals for 2012
My goals for 2012:
1. Finish my book and have it picked up by a publisher.
2. Add another 5,000 good coins on my core (Chip, clip, crack...etc. )collection
3. Add more nickels, dimes and halves to the core collection ( where im really slacking).
4. learn how to take good pics of coins that are already in slabs.
5. Secure a crack clip cud chip or other CORE category coin before 1800 and before 1850.
6. Write an article for a coin source about my area of interest.
7. Get back to a Baltimore Coin show
I dont see much in there that can be applied. maybe # 3 maybe #5?
I can use some advice.
