Yes, it was reported by Mark Feld and myself several days ago. It's a fake for sure.

Shanghai special...though I must say that they are gradually improving the quality of these fakes.

Definitely one of the better quality fakes.

THere are different shops that do different quality work.

CaptHenway was also a professional grader and authenticator. Mark worked for NGC and Tom worked for ANACS when it was part of the ANA.

I'll list the problems I see with it:
weak/poorly cut dentils upper right obv.
rims too sharp for the amount of wear.
too much separation of rims from dentils.
pewter surfaces and a little dark halo around the devices-- that "put on the shoe polish and wipe it off look" common to Chinese fake silver.

What else?

Mark did not question if it was real or fake. Why did you assume that? I questioned Mark about it
and he agreed it was a fake and we both reported it to Ebay. If anyone had a question it was I.
And, I didn't even think for a minute it was a real CC from 1870. I can always count on Mark to
back me up and report fakes. He, as well as others, are very passionate about our hobby/living.
