DIMEMAN may need the forum's help - ALL IS GOOD

Something happened where he went to "Customize" his search settings, specifically from 20 threads per page to 50, and apparently he lost everything.
What I mean by everything is:
All his PM history
all of his Buddy List (which I didn't know about until now!)
(and maybe more, but this is all he told me).

What is even more interesting is that the two PM's I received were sent from a lower-case 'dimeman' and not his usual all-caps 'DIMEMAN'
Also, when I replied to the lower-case 'dimeman', my reply(s) were not visible in the PM history.

So, can the Forum members here clear things up for me:
1) Are DIMEMAN and dimeman (conceivably) two different users?
2) Did DIMEMAN and/or dimeman possibly turn off their PM history and that is why Dimemans PM history was 'lost' and why my reply PM's didn't go through?
3) Did DIMEMAN get booted from the CU boards???!!! image
4) Other - why/how did DIMEMAN's stuff suddenly disappear???

Inquiring minds want to know, thanks image

When he went to do it, did he log himself off and recreate a new acct?
I've changed my settings from 20 to 40 before and no issues.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Yes, that's the weird thing. And with 10 year's of membership it doesn't seem likely that he JUST created a new account!

Is there a slight chance you're both?
Perhaps you don't recall signing/registering under the other account.

Edited to add: I think DIMEMAN logged himself out, and logged back in (somehow) as dimeman. Find your password Jon. image

I don't quite understand if you are talking to me (STONE) or Jon (DIMEMAN)

BUT, I think it's pretty well recognized/obvious that Jon (DIMEMAN) and I (STONE) are two different people.
Although if my alter ego is 40+ years older than me, then I may have some unresolved (neurological) issues image

I remember Adrian (Crane) raised a hissy fit a few months ago over on the NGC forums 'cause he thought someone else had registered a user name ("ANACONDAsomething"). It was discovered rather quickly he had done so himself years earlier and simply forgot he had done so.

What system restore? If you are talking about my computer system here at home that would not change what is on here at PCGS. Besides there is NO way I am changing anything here. It's hard telling what damage that would do!!! If there is a system restore here at PCGS.....maybe I would try that....but again......WHAT COULD THAT DO!!!!

Exactly right Dimeman , doing a system restore wont change anything whatsoever online anywhere for you.It may just add to your woes by buggering up your computer too.I think it prudent to sit tight until such times a Mod comes around and sorts it for you.

System restore does NOT delete any files or change anything you have done on your computer. If you did a system restore back to say yesterday the only thing you will lose will be any changes you made to your computer from that restore point( All it will do is return your computer to working the way it was working yesterday). Google system restore it will explain it there for you. (DO NOT DO SYSTEM RECOVERY) recovery will wipe every thing (meaning it deletes everything on your computer)

This happened because of your negative Chakra.

You are being given a chance to start over.

Use this opportunity to cleanse yourself of negative vibes (and constant complaining).

When you realize what has happened, you will embrace it.

    Jon,

    I sent you a PM.

All my PM history with you is there. Your Dallas icon shows, too.

I think you have two accounts. The lower case dimeman shows a Texas address.

Before today, when was the last time you logged out, or in other words logged in from another computer?

Maybe these forums just need to purge your two prior alias's and leave your DIMEMAN handle remaining,
then you might be able to log back in as DIMEMAN image

Seriously, I do feel for you. Is your eMail address up to date. If it is you might try logging in
with your old profile and clicking on you lost your password. Maybe the new password will fix
it. Then again it might be wise to wait until you can get software to help you.

Whatever you do don't log out if you have an old eMail address in the system or you probably
won't be able to get back in at all.
