In contrast to this thread -
There are collectors out there who:
- Whine no matter what
- Cry foul even when they made the choice
- Blame someone else for that choice
- Have way more dollars than sense
- Think because they have a good coin that they should be held in high esteem
- Think because someone else doesn't like the coin after they show it off, that NOW it isn't worth what they paid
- Could piss off ANY dealer no matter how good a dealer is
There are collectors out there who:

Well Yea, but you're talking about two different aspsect of coin collecting, sellers and buyers
and it seems to me that both can fall in each catagory.

1. To illustrate the point that Tiny made - that just as there are good dealers, there are also bad collectors...and vice versa. We frequently get caught up in dealer bashing on this forum, I thought it would be a good idea to remind us of the other side of the coin.
2. The idea for this thread was recommended to me by another forum member.
3. It's early where I am, and I am not a morning person.

I'm missing the contrast. Other thread say dealer good. This thread say collector bad.
It's like the heads I win tails you lose thing.
As for the OP - yes, some people wake up in the morning always suspicious of the other guy and bound and determined to be a PITA about it.

Contrast - to compare in order to show unlikeness or differences; note the opposite natures, purposes, etc.

contrast is the difference in visual properties that makes an object (or its representation in an image) distinguishable from other objects and the background.

Man, If I was a dealer or just a collector doing a show and that happened
I would have sent him packing after a few minutes of putting down my stuff.

If he opined that all your stuff was subpar, did you expect him to buy anything? He might have smelled your
inexperience and maybe thought he could talk you down on price if he could convince you the product
was inferior. I'm not condoning the guy's tactics, by the way...

It's a silly beilef, easily disproved.

Why would anyone do that?

This is the reason I only have .50 to my name
I think collectors and other dealers who buy trade and swap can fall into this category. I hear dealers at parsippany bad mouth other dealers at the show due to how they buy and sell . Hearing they are never happy no matter what you do. Its what it is .
