Why am I not seeing any. Nothing on message boards. Nothing for sale. I'm curious, I have sets being graded.

A few have been sold on eBay, most are selling at a discounted by 15% - 20% compared to the First Strike ones. Do a completed auction search & you'll spot them.
I like that the price of ungraded and opened sets is seeming to drift downward still, though slowly.
Well, just Love coins, period.

Check Amazon dot com....Raw sets are going for a Grand...!!!
A coin graded as a 70 non first strike coin is just as eye appealing as a 70 first strike coin or am I missing something here?
<< <i>For the life of me I do not understand why "first strike" coins bring such strong money, epsecially when there are literally thousands of them slabbed. How can thousands of coins be "first strike" coins, shouldn't the first 100 or so be the first struck coins???

No, you are quite sane...it's the people paying premiums for the "First Strike" who are (pardon me) insane!
It's pointless and doesn't make a difference with the COIN, which should be what you are buying, but in
actuality it is the COIN, the GRADE, and the SLAB! The prices on these will quickly drop back to normal levels
although the First Strike stuff will probably always carry a slightly stronger premium - it's the name of the game
<< <i>Why do Polo shirts with the little polo player emblem sell for twice as much as a polo shirt without the emblem when both are made the same????? It's marketing & demand... >>
So non-FS coins are made with different material and manufactured by a different company on different equipment than FS coins? I did not know that...

A quick glance at the ASEs in the PCGS price guide shows a few coins that make up for the $18 premium long-term, but many more that don't.

FYI: Many generic foods, shirts, handbags, etc. are made by the same people & with the same materials as the "name brand." Chevrolet is made on the same assembly line and with the exact same parts as GMC, the only difference is the GMC emblem and the 10% higher price...This is not a phenomenon that is peculiar to First Strike nor is it one that is a flash in the pan.

the shirts[coins] are made in the same shop (by the same kids in china). it's about who gets to sew/print on the label/monogram.
some labels are worth more for imperceptable reasons.
w/the 'right' label, it's worth XX% more.
