What are some athletes that went from goat to hero?

Here's a couple examples of what I mean:
Bob Brenly - 1986: Playing 3B for the Giants against the Atlanta Braves, he made not one, but four really boneheaded errors in one inning, which after the fourth error his own fans were booing him mercilessly. Looked like this was going to be the worst game of Bob's life, right? Well he didn't give up. He hit a home run in the 4th inning, drove in two runs with a hit in the 7th, and to top it all off, he did what every little boy who ever held a bat dreams of doing--hitting a home run to win the game.
But for probably the best example...
Dave Henderson - 1986 ALCS Game 5: Okay, everyone knows how Bill Buckner (fair or not) has been seeing as the goat of the 1986 World Series. But would you believe someone else could've been an even worse goat, and caused the BoSox to not have even gotten into the World Series at all? Well, in the 6th inning of Game 5 of the 1986 ALCS Bobby Grich of the Angels hit a home run to put the Angels up 3-2, which may not have even been a home run in the first place. That's because Dave Henderson of the Red Sox tried to catch it and it deflected off his glove for a tater (which otherwise the ball may have stayed in play and been only an extra base hit). So it looked like Dave Henderson would've been the "Bill Buckner" instead right? Well the Angels increased that lead to 5-2 and at one point were one strike away from going to their first ever Fall Classic. But with that very same Dave Henderson at bat against Donnie Moore, he would hit a two run go ahead home run to take the Red Sox into overtime (because the Halos scored another run afterwards). But Dave Henderson was not done. In the 11th inning he hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly to put the Red Sox up a run, which they would hold on to and win the game. So not once but twice, the potential goat of this ALCS turned out to be the hero.
I'm sure there's other examples; can any of the rest of you think of any? That is, a player making a really huge blunder that would've probably made him the goat, but that same player ended up saving the day in the end?

<< <i>I hope you know that the term "goat".....especially when used in sports.....often refers to "greatest of all time". >>
ou gotta give the OP some slack here becasue the term "goat" can really mean two things, both of which are opposite. Which is really confusing. For example, you here about Buckner being the goat of the Series, it's not a compliment. But when people call Mariano Rivera the G.O.A.T; it most certianly is a compliment. The English langue be so confusing at times
"G.O.A.T." - Good

Of course many people who called Elway a 3 time loser probably would have been glad to have him traded to their favorite football team at any time during his career. Funny how to some people the only measure of a pro athlete is how many times you played in, won and lost championship games.
In his final plate appearance as a Giant, he blasted a World Series winning homer. He was named the World Series MVP and a complete reversal of fan attitude towards him occurred.
