no way PSA gives that a 9PD. that red print dot will keep it out of a 10 holder. cause if you look at the SGC 98 and PSA 10 this example is just as nice if not nicer with just that minor print dot. PD is for only print snow and card out of focus. come guys you are suppose to be experts here
Lady: When I was a little girl in Panama, a rich American came to our town and he was wearing the softest most beautiful sweater. I said to him, "what do you call this most beautiful fabric?", and he said "they call it cashmere". I repeated the words "cashmere, cashmere". I asked if I could have it, and he said "No. Get away from me." Then he started walk away. But I grabbed onto his leg screaming for him to give me the sweater and he dragged me through the street. And then he kicked at me with the other foot and threw some change at me. Oh, but I didn't want the change Georgie. I wanted the cashmere.
George: I had a feeling you would like it. No, don't try it on now, try it on later.
so you would rather have one with that terrable chipping? that red dot is nothing more then like a fish eye and would keep this card out of a gem mint holder. its perfectly centered and has pretty good edges. sorry but this is way better then any PSA 9 I have seen. and i have seen some pretty crappy 9's with tilts and so forth. maybe you guys are being hard on me cause I am knew
<< <i>so you would rather have one with that terrable chipping? that red dot is nothing more then like a fish eye and would keep this card out of a gem mint holder. >>
I don't see the red cashmere dot on ANY PSA 9s, so don't assume for a minute this would cross. It has less chipping, but it has zits all over the surface and the red dot. Yes, it's a nice card, just don't present it as a sure thing crossover or crack/sub, because IT'S NOT!
well in my opion it would cross to a PSA 9 if cracked out. maybe I will crack it out and call 4 sharp corners and see if they can submit it for me they will def get a PSA 9. but i think i can get a PSA 9 subing it myself

I wanna see you do that Sammy boy. Crack 'er out, scan the raw card up on the boards, and let 'er rip. Then be man enough to post your results. Win some...lose some...
ok i will crack it and send it to psa. if i dont sell it by january 1st then i will. here is the wager dan. if that gretzky gets a PSA 9 you buy my jordan for $7500. if it dose not get a 9 i will sell you the jordan for $4k is that a deal?

You come on the boards and pound your chest about your Gretzky and how it will cross. I'm calling you on it. Prove it. Let's see you do it. I'm not betting you sh$t. Your Jordan is the worst centered PSA 10 I've ever seen. Still a very nice card for a 9, but not worth what you're asking. On top of that, you have no references, no ebay id. Nothing. Why would I ever plunk down that kind of money? The answer is: I f$%king wouldn't.
Regarding your proposed wager: I don't place bets with unknowns. But you go ahead. Crack, submit, and pull the 9. We'll all know if it's the same card. If you pull it off, I'll be the first on back here offering you praise.
There is a lot of tough talk on these boards. Take that bad boy to your band saw, tear it out, and submit it to Joe and the gang. Then come back and let us know how it turned out.
first off the jordan is not the worst centered 10 ok. thats why you offered $5500 for it. it actually meets all the guidlines for a 10 and is better then 55/45 L/R. you sound like a big old grinch now. maybe you hate to admit i am right.

I didn't offer an actual price. I said I (my offer) was in the same ballpark as Tommy. If I offer a price and it is accepted, I come through.
I'm not going to buy your card, so can stop PM'ing me constantly about it coming down, down, down. Somebody else will, I'm sure, but not me.
And, also, stop hawking other cards off on me that I never even asked about--like your Ted Williams GAI RC 8.5.
It's a nice Gretzky and is a toss up on a PSA 8 or 9. I would imagine the ever so slight chipping on the top border brings it down a notch. The print defects I see are the red dot thing, the fish eye and a few white spots. So I vote PSA 8.5.
Guys, you can crap on every single card out there if you want. I like Sam's BVG 9 Gretzky and the PSA 9 for sale. Both are great cards with different but minor flaws.
Unlike most other vintage hockey, you can get just as much for a BVG 9 as a PSA 9 on a Gretzky rookie. Sam, that card looks great but what if it comes back as undersized, or what if it comes back an 8.5? No way it will be a 10, so what incentive do you have to crack it other than some guys chirping at you?
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
Back to the card for a sec, I e-mailed the seller and asked why it was back up for auction so soon after it 'sold'. His response:
<< <i>The winner informed me immediately after the auction ended that he was not going to buy it after all? What can you do? The bidders have all the power. The sellers have non. >>
If the winning bidder is indeed on this thread, it sounds like somebody's got some 'splaining to do.

I have bought a few things from Calvin (seller of the Gretzky in the listing) at his shop several times over the years. I don't get the sense that he would be a schmuck about not selling if he didn't get the price he wanted, but he also usually has mostly ex-mt raw vintage at his shop so what do I know? (have never known him to grade - even talked against it in the past, but he does buy collections occasionally).
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.

check out the gretzky against a black backround looks so much better then that PSA 9

What is up with Wayne's pube being hermetically sealed in the top left of your card? 1 of 1 perhaps? Cha Ching!!!
George: I had a feeling you would like it. No, don't try it on now, try it on later.

George: Take it off. You're going to ruin it.
Lady: (noticing the red dot) What's this?
No soup for you, Sammy boy.

Yup, that's PD. And that's why it's a BVG holder.
