Can anyone here give me some info on a Fossil I found while digging?

    Looks like some kind of fern.

    I don't know a whole lot about fossils except the little bit I've learned from hunting the fossil shark teeth we have around here. I'm a total amateur. That being said, though, it definitely looks as though you have a fossil there, and a pretty neat lookin' one, at that.

    The first picture is definitely that of early flora... likely a fern family member... Nice item, worth keeping as a curio. Cheers, RickO

    I see a fern, a snail with no shell, a turtle, and a grasshopper......that's just in the first rock.

    Looks like a fossel to me. Probably in shale formed over eons of time
    by slow deposition.

    Its either:

    1. The Pennsylvanian (fern) occurred during the Carboniferous period, and lasted from about 318 million years ago, to about 299 million years ago.

    2. Old tar and Fern plant from several years ago.
