buffalo help - is this a 1935 DDR? the lesser 1 not the big 1.

A couple of new photo's that may help.

Hello, I was going through some new purchases the shop made at a recent show and found this. Looks like the FS-803
And is this worth crossing over and getting attribution on it. It is now a ngc ms64.
Sorry for the images could be better but they show what I am seeing.

I am inclined to say no also, but I admit I am not at all familiar with the variety. The red flag to me is the image you posted of E PLURIBUS UNUM; you should not see doubling on the bottom of the E and the top of the R, it should be in the same general direction on all lettering. The doubling on the top of the letters in FIVE CENTS also has the flat shelf-like appearance of machine doubling.

There are Buffalo nickel experts in these parts who can give you a more studied opinion, but that's my two cents.

If by the "lesser" one you mean the FS-803, then no. The most impressive feature of that variety is the circular die scratches pretty much all over the reverse. This image excellent example sold at a Bowers & Merena auction in November 2010. They provided an excellent image. You also can see the die doubling on most of the letters of UNITED and most of the letters in FIVE CENTS. Not a particularly impressive doubled die, but an incredible looking coin!

    Enjoy!
