  • I try to take a list of coins I'm looking for.

I also take along a few of the coins I'd like to upgrade. I've been frustrated to buy a coin at a show, get home and find it is an almost exact match of the coin I wanted to upgrade.

    Cheers
I still call my accumulation my collection!

I usually just go with what I would normally be carrying around...wallet, cell phone.

    Don't need much else...maybe a loupe.

This works for me because I typically talk to a couple of dealers before the show so when I get there I already have business lined up...anything else is just gravy.
  • I *always* forget the loupe. I've got half a dozen of them here at home, and here at home
is where they always are, while I'm at the show.

    Holey Gold Hat... check.

    Holey Coin Vest... check.

Garment bag for Holey Coin Vest... check. (Can be left at a friendly dealer's table while I'm "in costume" on the bourse.)

Duplicate holey coins and my wooden dollars to give to forum friends who come up and say "hi"... check.

Loupe on a neck lanyard... check.

Reading glasses (a relatively new requirement)... check.

    Spreadsheet or wishlist... check.

Photocopies of relevant priceguide pages for whatever series I'm workin' on.... check.

Deodorant... check. (Somebody else forgot theirs, though- maybe I should add Febreze to the checklist?)

    Ready cash to spend...

    ... oh, damn. image

#1 smartphone or iPad with connection to CoinFacts.

Would be a nice feature if you could download all the pages you wanted from CoinFacts to your device at home in case the cellular connection was dodgy at the show

To clarify...my cell phone is an iPhone and I have a subscription to PCGS Coin Facts. That, plus the wealth of other information available on the Internet, is about all I need.
