Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Please put me down for a six pack. Thanks!
Thanks,
David (LD_Ferg)

BTW, where is my name on the list?

<< <i>Grote - this has nothing to do with you but leath tech that is absolute bulsh for you to list his name when everyone else had to post. You just screwed someone else out of a box & broke the rules you set.

<< <i>i will not argue over a box but i stayed up for this lol shame on me
Sorry in advance I knew I would not be making many friends by offering to post this rip.
<< <i>I have no dog in the fight, but it looks to me like grote was the fifth person who wanted a box to post a response....... >>
Correct. I'm not sure what went on but in the end it doesn't change who got boxes. At most it would shift the order. Since Steve randomly ships, it won't change who gets what box.
I was the fifth poster in the thread for a box anyway so your point is moot.

I knew this had the potential to turn into a mess so I just wanted to post what really took place. Sorry for keeping all the east coasters up late! Good luck to everyone and enjoy the mini's these things are like crack!
<< <i>Just so everyone knows and I keep everything on the up and up... Tim (grote15) was already working with Steve to set this up for everyone... I jumped in and offered to do all the leg work and post this for everyone. Steve from the BBCE asked/suggested that one of the boxes should go to grote15 since he had already been in contact and working to get this ripped posted for everyone.

Thanks for doing this, Jasen (even though I have no dog in this fight). With all due respect to Tom, you really didn't owe any response to him re:grote as he was able to get a box. That's nice that you went ahead and communicated with him, but I think you ran this as fairly as you possibly could.
Good luck to all!

It's all good, but what if you'd been the 6th person to reply? Or 10th? See what I mean?
With all due respect to Steve Hart - and he is a tremendous guy - if he's going to offer this kind of material up on this board, he should organize & run the thread himself under whatever rules he wants, so there is no confusion or suspicion. Delegating it to someone else is asking for trouble.

(as I must admit to being a little disappointed in how this one went down).
The unofficial thread had two significant items of discussion going on:
1) Coming up with a concensus that the majority could live with on how to allocate the 7 BBCE boxes
2) Not starting this in the middle of the night EST so that there would be equal opportunity for all to
subscribe without having to stay up late
I cant quite tell if the first item was addressed (although I think 5 full boxes, 1 at max 6 packs/48 hrs and 1
at max 2 packs/48 hrs was not the in the best interests of this group given the large interest level), but I
am pretty sure that #2 was clearly missed/overlooked.
I know that the early bird gets the worm, but I was kinda hoping that we could try to approach things here a bit
more on a comraderie basis so that we would try to be more inclusive rather than exclusive. Putting 71.5% of
these 7 boxes into just 5 people's hands seems a bit too skewed when we have so many who want to be a part
of this. And starting this at 11:43PM EST really is a major disadvantage to those who are in the Eastern US timezones.
The good news is that 1975 mini unopened are not quite as uncommon as some of the other things out there
(for which I fully subscribe to the idea that its first-come-first-served). In that vein, I will be going after the case
coming up for auction in January to be used for a CU Forum break (if people here do not bid it up in competition
to my effort that would be to the benefit of everyone here). If I manage to get it, I'll try to set up the break such
that anyone who missed out on this one gets a higher priority on that one so that no one who wanted to participate
gets shut out of both.
If I do not manage to get that case, I'll commit now to putting up another 2 authenticated boxes I am holding and doing
another CU Forum break with them (again with some sort of priority for those who missed out on this one).
In future I'd really like to see the Forum aim for a bit more inclusive approach to structure and timing of these kind of efforts.
This is offered in the spirit of comraderie for our common enjoyment and interest.
Best Regards to All

thanks for your kind words... getting a group of people who don't really know each other is a massive undertaking. I agree the late time was in poor choice but it seemed like people and Steve at the BBCE wanted us to act fast on getting this done. Most people seemed to post they wanted boxes for their collections so I tried to honor that as much as possible since it was great deal BBCE was offering - all the boxes could have been sold by the box. 1 box was allocated to anyone that wanted just 1 or 2 packs and one was split into lots. Other than the start time I'm not sure how this really could have been done better.
<< <i>I'll grab two of the single packs too. >>
you got them... if I missed anyone above this post please let me know.

I get what you're saying, but I feel BBCE is doing enough already, by taking the time to ship out everything to the individuals who participate in these rips, not to mention giving us 10% off of everything we buy from them. That's a huge chunk of his profit margin! With how fast these boxes flew off the shelves, he very easily could have sold these at full price. Plus, asking Steve to set up these rips would look more like him spamming these boards rather than us having fun with random group rips.
Shouldnt be hard for him - just lay down the ground rules & away we go. Sometimes you gotta bring in the BOSS MAN.

Ron, I understand that---which is why I made sure to be within the first five posters requesting a box.
