Has anybody seen one of these ? I didn't know they existed! (This bar and auction is not mine, by the way) I'm having a problem with the link for some reason. It's item# 220886846995
Holy cow!!! I have never seen of or even heard of those. Already at $169/oz with over 8 days to go. My wager is a hammer price of around $650.....for a 2oz silver bar.
I know! It's crazy! I figured you guys would appreciate seeing a rarity like that. You know, looking at the serial number, you would think there would be quite a few of those around...
Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Here is a quick field guide to the 3 oz Engelhards. What I know I am missing is a 3 oz bar without a serial number. I am probably missing others that I don't know exist yet.
The Ingot Mines bar and the bar without any logo are probably Engelhard. The center bar in my opinion is the oldest style of Engelhard poured bar.
You have one with the MFR, is that older or newer? What do you know about the one I posted?
Thanks! This place is a goldmine of info!! >>
Here's my best guesstimate. I believe the MFR stamped bars (Metals Fabrication and Refining) where the Engelhard logo is at the center are later poured bars. The poured bars with the Engelhard logo at the top are the earlier bars (those without the "+" sign after "999" are possibly the earliest). I don't know where to place the bull horns bars in the chronology.

Yes Brian the 3 oz'ers are still in good hands lol. This is what I've accumulated since catching the odd size/old pour silver bars bug recently.
Before I knew what I had I sold these to a member here for just slightly over Spot...live & learn Maybe he'll let me buy them back?

Alas no pics, I have sold them all.
I did get the appropriate premium though.
