  • The blackish ring is just toning.
  • I'm interested too - ttt.
Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.

Sure looks that way to me as well. If it were a striking error I would have expected some evidence on the reverse.

Just a weird tarnish pattern. Cheers, RickO
  • Looks like it was pushed a little too far into the right-hand side of an album slot, with the left side sticking up a bit.

  • Looks like a misaligned die. Reverse looks properly centered. Is there any reeding one the edge? If not, it could be broadstruck.

I don't think the 'tarnish' is the reason why the OP asked his question.

It's at PCGS currently. And no I wasn't speaking of the toning. Look at the inner rim closely. It's some sort of error!! Just don't now what it's called!! Still looking for help....

Looks like a normal strike. I think what you're seeing is an illusion from the tarnish. Can you maybe point an arrow to what you're asking about?

Looks like the dies were not completely parallel when they struck the planchet and it's deeper on one side.

I am not sure what it's called, high rim maybe?
