Two things that should never go together:

    Franklin mint
    and
    Collectibles.

Unfortunately, as I inherited a load from my father when he passed away.
Lots of Sterling silver that is worth, sterling silver value, nothing more.

I think in checking the links you will find some FM coins worth above issue in that they sell regularly so. I personally rather like many of their NCLTs with beautiful designs - many done by Gilroy Roberts.

If you have any 1981-85 sets PM me, ditto gold unc coins of same vintage.

    PS check darkside old postings.

    Well, just Love coins, period.
  • The only silver round i wouldnt consider selling is a Franklin mint.

  • I think the Franklin Mint was bought by the Morgan Mint.

I'm sorry to disagree but my Franklin Mint F-15A Eagle in the colors of my daughter's squadron is a treasure to me and will no doubt be an heirloom.

edit to say: I certainly see your point with regards to 'numismatic' items.

Artistically ... FM products are second to none. Unfortunately, that does not translate into premium resale values for most. In addition, bullion collectors don't want to be bothered with Sterling Silver.

  • Dunno OPA , me and the missus are monster box stackers and then some , but these Franklin products on the secondary market are fine , i wouldnt pay the original price but for melt..can't be beat and its a nice diversion from looking at the same tired designs.

Agree...Like I said, artistically they are some of the best produced medals or bars.

    Also agree.
I've got some FM rounds commemorating the great battles of WWII and they are terrific designs, beautifully executed.
I bought them for melt several years ago when silver was cheap, complete with the FM album for them.
I periodically haul them off the shelf to look at them. Some of them are beautifully toned now too.
  • Ahhhh the toning SereneDude..you are not wrong there , i was so impressed with toning on some of these i bought a patriotic blue velvet lined box for that 76er medal. The velvet definately does it i think...seems to be.I have some FM rounds in a purple velvet lined box and they have lilac to purple with blues etc toning.
